Since 2021, the Martin Opitz Library has been recognised as an academic institution affiliated with Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) and operates under the name Martin Opitz Library, Affiliated Institute of Ruhr University Bochum.
As noted by Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) on its website, “affiliated institutes […] are legally, organisationally and economically independent academic institutions that are recognised as institutions of RUB and work in cooperation with RUB. This does not affect the independence of the institution.”
