Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategic direction and long-term development of the Martin Opitz Library, as well as for safeguarding its future as a key institution preserving the cultural heritage and history of Germans in Eastern Europe.
It ensures that the Library fulfils its statutory purpose, maintains its specialist focus, and preserves, documents and makes accessible its unique collections on the history, culture and society of Eastern Europe for researchers and the general public.
The Board of Trustees also advises and oversees the work of the Library's management, sets strategic priorities and provides the framework for the Library's continued development as a specialist and forward-looking institution.
